Slaying Excel Dragons – for College Students

If you are a fan of the MrExcel podcasts, you have undoubtedly seen Mike “Excel is Fun” Girvin who appears in the Friday Dueling Excel podcasts.

Mike teaches Excel, Accounting, and Statistics at Highline Community College in Seattle. Every quarter, Mike faces a new cohort of students who have probably never really used Excel before. Mike takes these students through a complete course in Excel, from navigating Excel, through formulas, through Subtotals, Pivot Tables and Charting.

A couple of years ago, Mike and I began talking about a book for beginning Excellers. A book that will start from square one, lay a solid foundation, and take the reader up through advanced Excel functions. That book is now a reality. Slaying Excel Dragons – A Beginners Guide to Conquering Excel’s Frustrations and Making Excel Fun is now available at the MrExcel store.
